Lindsey Vonn is an American skier born 18 October 1984. Her retirement came in 2010 after having won 4 World Cup races and the Olympic gold medal in downhill skis. She has the second highest overall score of all skiers, female and male. She's the most skilled skier of all-time and is the most well-known across America. United States. Lindsey American World Cup alpine ski racer Caroline Vonn also known as Lindsey Vonn competes for the US Ski Team. There have been four occasions she was awarded the title of winner in the World Cup overall competition. She has a long and distinguished track record in American sports. She is one of just six women to have triumphed in all five alpine skiing World Cup events. She has won 82 World Cups. A world-class skier and one of the most popular ski racers has taken a decision to step down following the World Championships, which take place in Sweden. The athlete retired following a lengthy list of illnesses. Social media was used to announce her retirement. Next week I'll compete in my final races of my career in the Downhill as well as the SG World Championships in Re Sweden.
